After the heavy rain threat today weakens this evening, drier weather is expected for the 4th of July through the weekend. Rain chances slowly increase through next week.
Temperatures will run a few degrees above normal over the next week.
The Atchafalaya River at Morgan City will hold in a moderate flood for the next week, and the Sabine River at Deweyville will hold in minor flood over the next week.
No tropical cyclones are expected to develop in the Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean, or Atlantic Ocean over the next 5 days.
