Friend of the Kountze Public Library, Marilyn Cox, helped raise about $24,000 in financial support for the library and its programs.

Friends of Kountze Public Library President Mary Catherine Johnston states that ExxonMobil rewards “the nonprofit $500 per time period as compensation.”
Cox began working in 2006 and has committed 20 hours of volunteer time a quarter and serves as the Friends’ secretary.
“Marilyn’s work is invaluable,” Johnston said. “She has documented library Friends’ business as secretary and assists at the circulation desk. She helps host library programs, process donated books, and faithfully helps to build and grow the use of the library for patrons.”
As a retired teacher Cox is committed to the library mission “to enhance lifelong reading and learning,” she said.
In addition to Cox’ dedication, the contribution of ExxonMobil is “sincerely appreciated as they facilitate opportunities for talented employees and family members to help build strong communities,” Johnston said.
