It was a rough night for the maroon and white inside Johnson Coliseum on Friday at the 4A Region III Tournament semifinal.
One minute and fifteen seconds into the game, Silsbee had already turned the ball over three times and the Eagles had an 8-0 lead.
Head coach Deborah Haynes called a quick timeout. Her team was lost after eight first quarter turnovers and a 26-10 deficit. The Lady Tigers had to come up with a strategy to not only protect the ball, but climb out of a huge hole too.
Things would get worse as Fairfield extended to lead to 25 points midway through the second quarter and taking a 40-20 lead into the break.
Silsbee ended up turning the ball over 29 times in the contest and could never crack the comfortable double-digit lead the Lady Eagles held onto the entire second half.
Senior Dakota Matthews lead her team with 28 points before fouling out with less than a minute left in the game.
