UPDATE: Saturday evening around 5:30 pm, a sixth grade Kountze middle school football player was air lifted after sustaining an injury at the game.
On Monday, Kountze Superintendent John C. Ferguson emailed that the condition of the player had improved.
“The student is home and doing good,” he wrote. “It appears to be a mild concussion.”
The name and age of the young player was not offered by authorities.
AT this time, the Lumberton Ledger reached out to the Kountze PD and the Sheriff’s Office. Neither have further information at this time. The office on duty was not available. We will try again in the morning.
Around 5:30 p.m. this evening a sixth grader from Kountze middle school was airlifted in the middle of a football game.
