The Hardin County Sheriff's Office states that investigators suspect that the body found in Sour Lake may be that of James Alvin Hornes, who was reported missing in January.
On the morning of Thursday, March 8, an oilfield worker reported finding human remains near an oil well site, according to a news release issued by the HCSO.
Investigators recovered the body, reported to be an adult male, and it has been sent to the Jefferson County Morgue for an autopsy.
HCSO reports that a bicycle similar to the one that Hornes was known to have, was located near the body.
No further information is available until officials have the results of the autopsy.
HCSO asks that anyone with information regarding this case contact them at 409-246-5100.
