On Monday morning, March 5, the news came out that Dr. Jeremy Glenn, the finalist for the Lumberton ISD superintendent position, had withdrawn from consideration.
Just days after the Lumberton ISD School Board of Trustees held a special meeting to announce that Dr. Glenn was the finalist they were told that he had decided to stay in Waxahachie.
According to the Waxahachie Daily Light, "Glenn announced the change of heart in an emotional, prepared speech to the Waxahachie ISD Board of Trustees just after 10 a.m. Monday. His decision led to the trustees to adjourn the special session with no action."
Lumberton ISD School Board President James Kersh released this statement:
"Dr. Jeremy Glenn, Waxahachie ISD Superintendent, announced to the Lumberton ISD Board of Trustees this morning that he does not intend to take the position offered to him last week by Lumberton ISD."
"We are disappointed Dr. Glenn has withdrawn from the position we offered him," stated Kersh. "The Lumberton ISD Board will meet on Thursday to determine a path forward in naming a new superintendent."
