A woman was stopped for Failure to Maintain a Single Lane in Lumberton on Monday. Hardin County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Jesse Orr made the stop and observed an open container of beer in the center console of the vehicle. That observation allowed police to conduct a search.
Sgt. Orr contacted a female police officer to perform the search of the suspect. Before the officer arrived, the suspect is reported to have handed over narcotics that she had in her possession.
The narcotics were identified as Ecstasy and 10 grams of methamphetamine, according to the report.
The suspect was identified as Jessica Purks and she was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group One more than Four Grams and less than 200 Grams, a second degree felony and Possession of a Controlled Substance more than Four Grams less than 200 Grams, also a second degree felony.
The suspect was transported to the Hardin County Jail.
