Hailey Bourne, 12 years old of Lumberton, has received acceptance to the Joffrey Ballet School Summer Intensive Program in New York City.
Joffrey is a world-renowned dance school and it is considered a great honor to be invited to participate in the program.
Hailey’s dance teacher, Katie Lancaster, set her up for the audition in Dallas. She will be leaving for New York in July.
Although intensive training is the focus of this experience, Hailey will also get to enjoy some of the exciting sights of the Big Apple. She plans to tour Radio City Music Hall, see some Broadway productions such as Wicked and Cats, and of course take in a few ballet performances.
Hailey has been dancing since was five years old and started out at Ginger Gondron Dance Arts. Since then she has moved to Studio D, and after her experience at Joffrey Ballet, she will continue training at Lancaster Dance Academy that is scheduled to open in Beaumont this summer.
The young dancer has completed sixth grade at Lumberton Intermediate and is looking forward to attending Lumberton Middle School in the fall.
