Connie Lynne Jackson, 56 of Kountze, has been arrested and charged with felony possession marijuana, according to a news release from the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office.
On the evening of Tuesday, April 25, HCSO deputies executed a search warrant on FM 770 in Kountze. The search warrant was issued by Hardin County Justice of the Peace Melissa Minton. Deputies discovered an “elaborate indoor marijuana growing operation, along with over 100 plants in various stages of growth,” according to the release. The converted mobile home had electronic equipment that monitored the fertilization and moisture content. The operation also included high intensity lighting and air filtration systems.
This arrest was a result of a tip received through Crime Stoppers.
HCSO Sheriff Mark Davis said “The tip was received this morning. The tipster gave us information that we thought was very specific but also there was a sense of urgency with the possibility that the operation may be moved at some point in time and so we wanted to act quickly on this.”
Sheriff Davis continued to say, “This is a prime example of when citizens get involved with giving crime tips. It’s a battle that we can’t do just ourselves in law enforcement, we’ve got to have the public’s help. In this particular case, it was great information, it was very specific, so we knew ahead of time what we thought the allegation was.”
