The Lumberton High School Choir has been given an amazing opportunity to perform at New York City’s Carnegie Hall with Grammy-winning composer and conductor Eric Whitacre.
LHS Choir has been busy preparing for this April 2018 trip and raising funds to help pay for it. On Saturday, March 25, after the storm passed, several of the choir kids came out to the Dairy Queen parking lot to wash cars for people who had purchased a $10 ticket.
Tina Bernard, LHS Choir Director said they had raised over $14,000 from the car wash. “It’s amazing that our community steps forward and helps our kids,” she said. Thankfully, the kids did not have to wash over 1,000 cars to raise that amount. There were some generous people who donated money without receiving the service.
