Sour Lake Truckville decided to pitch in and do what they could to help the Lumberton Mighty Raider Band Booster Club replenish their account after their funds were stolen.
For a period of time, a portion of sales from vehicles purchased from Lumberton residents was set aside to donate to the booster club. On Tuesday, February 7, a check for $7,000 was presented by Mike Rhodes with Truckville, at the booster club meeting.
Rhodes, a Lumberton resident and father to a Raider football player, said “I felt like it was a great way for the dealership, and me too, and for all of us to give back a little bit to the school, especially the band program.”
Booster Club President, Randy Eason expressed gratitude for the generous donation. “That’s just amazing. I can’t describe how generous it was for them to do that for us.”
Eason also said that his estimation is that they are about where they need to be in regards to funds for this time of year.
