The community has stepped up to help support the Mighty Raider Band Boosters as they try to raise funds. The boosters will have a booth set up at the Village Creek Festival and will be selling discount cards as well as band booster gear such as hoodies and t-shirts. According to Randy Eason, Lumberton Mighty Raider Band Booster President, Triple S Industrial donated the booth at the festival and the Lumberton Chamber of Commerce upgraded that booth to one with power. They are in need of volunteers to work the booth during the festival. Those interested in volunteering can go to the Mighty Raider Band Boosters Facebook page to comment with their availability.
Darice Farris Photography has offered to do super mini sessions all day at the festival on Saturday, October 29 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Schlotzky’s in Lumberton will be hosting a fundraiser evening on November 7, 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. For anyone who comes in the restaurant to make a purchase, 15% of those sales will go to the band boosters. Monetary donations will be accepted at the booth during the festival as well as dropped off at Lumberton High School’s band office and the office of Lumberton Police Chief Danny Sullins.
“We want to make sure that everyone who is donating and helping knows they are greatly appreciated. We are in awe of the generosity that is being shown to the band boosters during this time. We thank everybody in the community who is showing support,” said Randy Eason.
