One of the first items on the agenda for the Board was to accept a bid proposal from the competitive sealed proposals that were submitted and reviewed for the AG Barn project. The bid proposal from McGinnis Construction was awarded the bid. Their bid came in at $495,500 to include the building, site work, pavement, and sidewalks. The project is estimated to be completed within 120 days with five rain days. It is expected that they will be breaking ground around the first week of November.
Superintendent John Valastro discussed the marching band contest taking place over the next few weekends and the Mighty Raiders Band’s participation in the contest.
Lumberton Middle School was recognized by the Board for receiving a Milestone Award from the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. LMS raised over $25,000 in the last 10 years for this organization. It is believed that the actual amount raised is around $39,570.
