A driver of a white Chevrolet van was stopped for speeding, 81 mph in a 65 mph zone, on September 26 around 10 p.m. on Highway 96 and Chance Road. Officer Michael Strange stopped the vehicle and reported that he smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
The suspect was identified as Faisal Nasrullah Hussain, 31 of Port Arthur, and police say he was operating a taxi van. According to police, he admitted that he had just rolled a joint and the officer observed a partially burnt joint in the vehicle. It was reported that two plastic bags were found on his person allegedly containing marijuana and powder cocaine.
A field test was conducted and the substance tested positive for powder cocaine. The suspect was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and transported to Hardin County Jail.
