Lumberton is thriving with new development popping up all over town. There are many reasons for the growth including schools, outdoor recreation, low crime and a great community. As popular as Lumberton is these days, it is still hard to believe how many new residents are added to the town on a regular basis. Another new development is going up on the southeast side of Lumberton. It began a few weeks ago with the land being cleared for development. It being developed by Hawkins Homes, who also developed The Cascades. It will be called The Reserve.
The land is currently being cleared right off of Holmes Road, directly across the street from The Cascades. It will be homes upwards of $200,000 in there. There will be 23 lots developed inside this new subdivision which backs up to a heavily wooded area. The new development is very near Village Creek State Park and one of only a handful in that part of the town. The traffic is less congested there and it is more forested than the Highway 69 side of town. The fact that it is a smaller development than many others adds to the small town feel the town has tried to maintain throughout its growth spurts. No doubt residents will experience Lumberton at its best for those who choose to make The Reserve their new home.
